Book Rest – A Great Addition

A great invention for book lovers is the book pillow. This pillow is specifically created to sustain the weight of your book as you read so you do not have to hold it up if you don’t want to.  When compared to other such items such as the book rack and the book tray; the book pillow is a preferred choice of many simply because of its softness. It is also quite comfy and bendable as well. There are several companies that sell these pillows, but if you do not wish to expend the cash needed to purchase this pillow, then you can simply use the regular pillow to achieve a similar result.

These pillows are more often than not created for the reading enthusiast to read while they are in bed. This is mainly because when you are in bed, you will need to hold your book at the height and angle that is best for reading.  If this is not done, then you may end up having soreness in your arm or neck from holding the book too long or at an awkward handle.  You can also opt to utilize the book pillow by placing it on your lap while you are reading either on a chair, the floor, or on the settee.  These book pillows are also great for holding up your laptop.

Typically, the main shape of the book pillow is the wedge and some slight deviation from it.  The angle that the wedge provides usually affords the reader the perfect position for their book.  There are also other shapes such as vigilantly created logs and pyramids.

It is stuffed with foam that is hard or with a fabric that is comparable.  The choice of stuffing is so that the book will not keep moving all over the place while you are trying to read.  It also comes with a cover that you can wash as well; making it very hygienic.

There are a few book pillows that have additional features.  These include a booklight, a page turner, or a book mark that has been built into the book itself.  There are also a variety of pillowcases for your book pillow as well.  These pillowcases come in a number of styles and materials; namely, faux suede and cotton, and in different patterns and colors that will match your bedclothes.

If you prefer not to purchase a book pillow, then you can just use a wedge pillow that is made of foam.  If the pillow is too soft, then it will defeat the purpose as after a while the shape of them changes and they become warped.  Book rest pillows help the reader to have good posture and to avert straining the eyes.
